Sports Tips UK: Free Horse Racing Tips - Epsom Derby Preview

The Derby weekend is on its way, and the town is already starting to buzz!

Things have suddenly started to appear all over the downs, tickets arrived in the post, my girlfriend has bought a new dress for ladies day, and it’s time to start thinking about the contenders in the classics!

Still a couple of weeks to go but in the Oaks but at the moment my preference is for AVIATE. The Khalid Abdullah-owned filly trained by Henry Cecil has been chosen by Tom Queally over her stable mate Timepiece. Timepiece was my preferred choice at the start of year. Combine Queally’s choice with Aviate’s fantastic form since debut last November and I’m convinced – that said, there’s still time to change my mind!

The Derby – is a much harder riddle to solve. Market support is still firmly with St Nicholas Abbey, however, the case for Jan Vermeer seems to be gathering momentum. Despite this I find myself being drawn towards the idea of an Oaks and Derby double for Henry Cecil’s yard.

BULLET TRAIN  (10-1), who was the impressive winner of the Derby Trial (Eng-G3) at Lingfield Park on May 8, after the Lingfield Derby Trial winner pleased his rider Tom Queally in a workout on the Newmarket gallops.

"He's in good shape. He's improving all the time and he deserves to take his chance," said Queally. "I'm pleased with him and looking forward to the ride."
Teddy Grimthorpe told at the races "Bullet Train is heading that way (to Epsom) as well. He did a nice breeze in Newmarket he's the sort of horse you can expect to run a really decent race."
