Racing tips from Hamilton 20/09/09

Morning All!

Today’s tip is Valid Point in the 4.40 Toteswinger Handicap from Hamilton

Had lots of tries in maidens but has taken off since going handicapping, winning at Ayr, Beverley and Wolverhampton in space of nine days last three starts; latest start looked harder for him, as it should under double penalty, and he's up another 10lb here but impossible to rule out further improvement; good chance he'll stay.

The Placing streak dating back to 18th August finally came to an end yesterday – with a shocking run by Radiohead at Newbury and then a below par performance by Genki in the Gold Cup – Let’s get back on track today!!

Tips from Ayr & Newbury 19/09/09

Morning All!

It’s Gold cup day in Ayr and I’ll be on a flight winging it’s way north in the very near future! But while I’m sitting here in an airport Starbucks pouring over choices for the Ayr races, I can’t shake the feeling that I’m going to the wrong meeting today!

Today’s NAP is for a horse that gave me one of my biggest wins of the year (Royal Ascot) Radiohead in the Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes 2.20 at Newbury

Did well to recover from serious interference to win at Royal Ascot and, while events have shown that to be a substandard renewal of the Norfolk, he underlined his merit with a fine third against older rivals in the Nunthorpe, just missing the break and doing easily best of those ridden from behind; 6f should not be a problem and the one to beat.

The other one to watch is Awzaan – but I’d always pick Jamie Spencer over Richard Hills

My selection for the near impossible to pick William Hill (Ayr) Gold Cup (Heritage Handicap) 3.10 is Genki. Knot In Wood and Advanced are as solid as they come at this level but there is always scope for an improver in races like this. While Redford looked the better horse of the two when he and GENKI met at Ascot in July, the latter was only just starting to turn the corner at the time. He went on to win the Stewards' Cup and there are strong grounds for hoping that we'll see further improvement from him here as well. Redford is interesting tried again at this trip and he may be best of the others, though Brave Prospector is also respected.

Racing Tips and results from Doncaster 11/09/09

Morning All!

Today’s tip is Geordieland in the 2.40 DFS DONCASTER CUP, I’m a huge fan of this horse, and a large part of this pick is loyalty coupled with the fact that just about the most experienced jockey around Mick Kinane is onboard!

Geordieland tends to run well when fresh and he hasn’t been out since the Gold Cup defeat 12 weeks ago. Jamie Osborne is hoping to use a victory today to set up Breeders' Cup Marathon at Santa Anita in November.

Askar Tau under Ryan Moore looks the best of the rest.

Disappointing 3rd for the very well backed Tanoura yesterday - among the places though so the placing streak for September continues!

Tips from Doncaster 10/09/09 and tip results from Epsom

Morning All!

A great win at Epsom yesterday for Funday – I took advantage of the William Hill deal; you back your selection early in the morning, and receive whichever price is higher, your original bet or the SP – in this case just before the race, Funday inexplicably drifted all the way out to 4-1 from 7-4 with lots of money going towards Upton Seas- so a much bigger win than expected in the end!

On to today’s tip; Tanoura in the DFS PARK HILL STAKES 3.45 from Doncaster – Progressive filly who won extremely well in a listed event over 1m4f at York recently – sure to be plenty of money for her the main danger is Shemina.

Racing Tips and Going from Epsom 09/09/09

Morning All!

Today’s tip is in the Ashtead Handicap at 3.20 from Epsom, I’m going with Funday currently trading at around 7/4

Only horse in the field with Epsom experience, beaten very narrowly here on bank holiday Monday, I would expect improvement today!

The danger is Upton Seas – in great form at the moment but Funday’s Epsom experience should win out

It’s a glorious day here in Epsom; the temperature on the down is approaching 20 degrees already! The ground looks to be slightly on the firm side of good – the official going is good to firm, good in places

Enjoy!

Racing from Goodwood 08/09/09

Today’s tip is Namaskar in the 2.35 European Breeders´ Fund September Maiden Fillies´ Stakes from Goodwood - interesting and competitive race; my money’s definitely with Namaskar - half-sister to Irish Oaks winner Wemyss Bight – the main threat is Zahoo who had a promising debut with a fifth place at Newmarket over a shorter trip.

Below is the tipping table for September so far, Fallon just pipped my tip for yesterday and went on to ride a 254-1 treble - he's definitely back!!!

Tips from Folkestone 07/09/09

It’s been a couple of days since my last tip – just returned from the Emerald Isle where I bore witness to another awesome performance by Sea the Stars!!

Caught a couple of races from York yesterday and had a flutter on Cool minx – convincing win on the first time out – definitely one to look out for, and Richard Fahey’s amazing year continues!!

Today’s Tip is Art Scholar in the “Bet After The Off At ladbrokes.com Novice Stakes” from Folkestone at 2.20 - looked fantastic and won well in maiden run over slightly shorter distance at Bath - will be extremely well backed today!

The results table is below, the placing Streak continues!!

Return of Fallon, Tips from Lingfield

Morning All!

I've been caught up with Fallon fever as well... My tip of the day is Rare Malt in the 2.20 at Lingfield.

I think Rare Malt is the best horse in this contest ahead of Gifted Apakay, that said I'm not sure that it's a great value bet - lots of early mornign betting traffic on the Fallon rides for today.

So lets hope that Kieren can keep my winning streak going!!

Winning Streak Continues at Leicester!

Winning Streak Continues at Leicester!

Evening all! I’m starting to get a little scared!! My streak now goes back to the 18th August – with four wins in a row now!

Big thanks to Dandyman ridden superbly by Frankie Dettori this afternoon – I’m now going to have to think hard about tomorrow’s card to keep this going! Thanks for all the positive comments and emails – they’re very much appreciated - Hopefully this will continue and we’ll all make loads of dosh!!!

Racing Tip from Leicester 01/09/09

Morning All!

Today's tip comes from Leicester in the 4.20 - a 5f sprint Which should be straight contest between Dandy Man and Peace offering; Dandy Man is my choice though with just enough to shade this one - but it should be close!!
